Getting the proper mental health professional is important!

Updated: Jan 29, 2023

Mental health professionals all have specialized training and expertise in various areas related to mental health and addiction-

A Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) is a professional who is working towards becoming a fully licensed mental health counselor. In order to become an RMHCI, an individual must have a master's degree in mental health counseling or a related field, and must have completed a certain number of supervised clinical hours.

A Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) is a mental health professional who specializes in the treatment of addiction. They may work with individuals struggling with substance abuse, such as alcohol or drugs, or with behaviors such as gambling addiction.

A Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a person who has been trained to evaluate individuals who have violated a DOT (Department of Transportation) drug and alcohol program regulation and make recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.

A Certified Gambling Addictions Counselor (CGAC) is a mental health professional who specializes in the treatment of gambling addiction. They may work with individuals who have a problem with excessive gambling, helping them to understand the root causes of their behavior and develop strategies for overcoming their addiction.

An ICADC Alcohol & Drug Counselor is a mental health professional who has been certified as an International Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor. They have undergone specialized training in the treatment of substance abuse and addiction, and are qualified to provide counseling and support to individuals struggling with these issues.

A Certified Telehealth Practitioner is a mental health professional who has received specialized training in the use of telehealth technology for the delivery of mental health services. This may include the use of video conferencing, phone calls, or other forms of remote communication to provide counseling and support to clients.

In conclusion, each professional plays a crucial role in helping individuals struggling with mental health issues and addictions to overcome their challenges and live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
